Recommended Fabrics for Bar Stools, Chairs and Armchairs

At MEK Design , every upholstered piece is made to order in England, so choosing the right fabric is an important part of creating your furniture. Our seven fabric Price Groups bring together practical everyday upholstery, refined textures, designer weaves, Italian fabrics, leather and specialist finishes.

Price Groups reflect the overall value and specification of a fabric. They may take into account the fabric brand, country of origin, weave complexity, design character, technical performance, cleanability and composition. A higher Price Group does not automatically mean that a fabric is the best choice for every room. The right fabric depends on how the furniture will be used, the model selected and the look you want to create.

Our recommendations below are a starting point. Colours and textures can appear different on screen depending on lighting, display settings and the surrounding environment. If you are unsure which fabric to choose, you can order a fabric sample and we can confirm the suitability of your chosen fabric for your selected model, including any two-tone upholstery or commercial requirements.
